Yunsoung Kim is a Research Fellow at Green Energy Strategy Institute. Yunsoung Kim leads the research projects on the urban and rural energy system transition, the expansion of green hydrogen usage, and the socio-economic benefits of renewables. She has been involved in regulation settings to improve the acceptance of renewable energy, especially offshore wind.
she received her Ph.D. in Urban Planning from Seoul National University in 2007. Before joining GESI, she worked as an Associate Research Fellow at the Agricultural Cooperative Economic Research Institute of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, in charge of climate change and crop policies. Recently, she served as a working group leader on K-SDGs (SDG7, and 13) organized by the Ministry of Environment, and was a member of the ‘Carbon Neutrality Committee’ of the Presidential Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Villages. She is also a non-executive director of the Korea Energy Agency.
