Seungwan Kim is an associate professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering at Chungnam National University. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of NEXT Group and a non-executive Director of Korea Energy Agency. Dr. Kim is known for his expertise in electricity system design for zero-carbon energy transitions in Korea. He actively participated in Korea’s energy transition policy-making processes, serving as a member of the 2050 Presidential Carbon Neutrality Commission (2021-2022), Expert Committee of the National Council on Climate and Air Quality (2019-2021), and the Hydrogen Economy Council under the Prime Minister's Office (2020-2022). He holds a B.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University.
