Dr Patrick Graichen is State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action since December 2021. Previously, he served as Executive Director and Managing Director at Agora Energiewende from January 2014 to December 2021. He also worked as Deputy Director of Agora Energiewende from 2012 to 2013. He was the Head of Division at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety from 2007 to 2012. 
He received a doctoral degree in Environmental Economics at Heidelberg University with a thesis on Municipal Energy Policy’ in 2001.
